Student, 17, Brings Pellet Gun, Knife to Delaware High School: Police

A teenager from the Delaware Beaches faces weapons charges after police found a pellet gun in his backpack and a knife in his boot.

The incident played out shortly before noon Monday inside a classroom at Indian River High School in Dagsboro, Delaware.

A school resource officer found an 8-inch knife inside the 17-year-old boy’s boot and a CO2 pellet gun in his book bag after concerned students alerted school administrators, said Delaware State Police.

Investigators charged the teen – who wasn’t identified since he is a minor – with concealed weapons charges. The boy was released to a parent ahead of a later family court date.

No injuries were reported.
