Teen, Man Shot While Playing at Rec Center

A teenage boy and a man are in the hospital after a shooting at a rec center in Philadelphia.

Police say the 15-year-old boy and 24-year-old man were playing basketball at the Feltonville Rec Center on the 4700 block of B Street on Monday around 8:20 p.m.

While they were playing, investigators say an argument broke out on one of the courts which led to an unidentified gunman opening fire.

The teen was struck once in the right thigh while the man was struck in the right hip. The teen was transported to St. Christopher’s Hospital while the man drove himself to Temple University Hospital.

Both victims are in stable condition.

Investigators say the gunman fled the scene. They have not yet released a description of him.

Police say there were about 100 people on the courts at the time of the shooting. They also say children were playing in a softball game nearby.
