Philadelphia Police are investigating the alleged rape of a teen girl on Two Street following the Mummers parade.
The 16-year-old girl told police she was attending a party on Tree and 2nd Street Monday night when she was sexually assaulted by an unidentified man. Police say the girl was intoxicated and may have been raped behind a plastic covering of a scaffold.
The girl was taken to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia while a suspect was taken into custody. The suspect was interviewed and later released. He has not yet been identified.
Police are currently awaiting the District Attorney’s Office to determine whether any charges will be filed.
