Dead Teen Found in Crashed Car

    Authorities found a teenager dead inside a crashed car yesterday.

    Authorities say the Camden man was found dead in car that had crashed into a fence near Louis and Atlantic Streets -- a short distance from the intersection of Kaighns and Haddon Avenues in Camden, N.J.

    Police say 18-year-old William Custis IV was shot twice in the head.

    He was found in the driver's seat of his car just before noon on Sunday.

    Custis was the 31st person slain in the city so far this year.

    The homicide comes as Newark Mayor Cory Booker is set to meet with Camden Mayor Dana Redd Monday. Booker is one of four Democrats running in Tuesday’s special election to finish out the late Sen. Frank Lautenberg’s term in the U.S. Senate.
