Teen Driver Killed After Being Ejected in Crash

Police are investigating a car accident that claimed the life of a Delaware teenager.

Investigators say 18-year-old Adrian Holt of Seaford was driving a 2001 Jeep Cherokee shortly after 3 a.m. on Saturday in the right lane of Sussex Highway just north of Bethel Concord Road.

As he was driving, Holt somehow lost control of his vehicle and crashed onto the grass median, flipping over several times.

Holt was ejected from the Jeep and landed onto the southbound lanes of US 13.

Holt was not properly restrained inside his vehicle at the time of the accident, according to investigators. He was taken to the Christiana Hospital Trauma Center where he was later pronounced dead. Holt was the only person involved in the crash.

It does not appear that drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident, according to preliminary information from police.
