Teen Boy Struck in Hit and Run: Cops

Police are investigating an alleged hit and run in Toms River, N.J. that left a teenage boy in the hospital.

Investigators say that on Friday, around 9:30 p.m. a 17-year-old boy from Newtown, Pa. was walking with two of his friends on Route 35 North and Silver Beach Road.

Witnesses then say that a black sports car traveling northbound suddenly struck the boy. The car then allegedly sped off northbound.

The boy was taken to the Jersey Shore Trauma Center where he is in critical condition.
