Police say a 15-year-old youth has been charged with attempted murder and related offenses in a daylight shooting outside a Philadelphia grocery store that critically injured another 15-year-old boy.
Investigators say the gunfire erupted after an apparent argument by the corner store in the East Mount Airy section around 3:15 p.m. Sunday. They say the boy was shot once in the chest and taken to a hospital, where he remained in critical condition Monday.
Police said at least two males were seen running from the scene. Witnesses said a fight or argument between two groups of teenagers may have been what led to the shooting.
The names of the victim and the suspects have not been released.
