Teacher Punches Student over Chalk-Throwing: Police

A teacher allegedly punches a student repeatedly in the face. This employee-on-student allegation comes only a week after another employee at the school for troubled kids was accused of sexually assaulting a student

A teacher at the Presbyterian Children’s Village in Radnor has been arrested on assault charges after punching a student in the face, police say.

The teacher claims that the girl threw chalk at him, according to police.

Police have charged 41-year-old Richard B. Little of Yeadon with aggravated assault, simple assault and related charges, reports the Main Line Media News.

According to the report, at 10:19 a.m. Jan. 23 Little called for a supervisor at the school to help him with a student who was throwing chalk at him. When the supervisor came, he saw chalk on the floor and told Little to leave the room, according to the Media News.

Little then grabbed the student, pulled her into the hallway and started punching her in the face, the supervisor told police. The student was bleeding from the punches and Little’s hand was bloody with teeth marks that were a consistent signs of punching someone in the mouth, reports the Media News.

Both Little and the student were taken to Bryn Mawr Hospital, police say.

Within a month, the Radnor school - which caters to helping heal children and families who are victims of violence and neglect - has had an employee accused of punching a student and another employee accused of sexually assaulting a student.

Little was released from Delaware County Prison after posting 10 percent of $100,000 bail.
