Car Collides With Tanker, Flips Over

A tanker truck and a car collided across from the Nabisco Plant in Northeast Philadelphia this morning.

The impact of the wreck in the southbound lanes of the Roosevelt Boulevard (U.S. Route 1) by Nabisco Drive caused the car to flip over, trapping the driver.

Around 9:30 a.m., SkyForce10 hovered overhead as crews tried to rescue the driver. After about 10 minutes the driver was taken out of the vehicle and loaded into a waiting ambulance.

Another person was also injured -- it wasn't clear if they were in the car or the tanker.

Traffic was stopped to the area due to the crash and a fuel spill, according to Philadelphia Fire Radio.

Accident investigators were on the scene trying to figure out what caused the wreck.
