MAYOR

Taney Dragons on ‘Today Show'

It’s been quite a homecoming so far for the Taney Dragons.

Mayor Michael Nutter and the city welcomed them home from the Little League World Series on Sunday with a party at Love Park and six hours later, the team was back on a bus bound for the big lights of New York City.

The Dragons sat down with Matt Lauer on the "Today Show" early Monday to talk about their new found fame, the LLWS loss and starting a new school year.

Their interview with Matt Lauer was the first of many sit-down interviews scheduled for the team who stole America's heart in this year's tournament.

One of the team's stars, Mo'ne Davis, told NBC10's Matt DeLucia that she was nervous about all the questions she'll be expected to answer.

"I have to just be calm and answer all the questions," Davis told DeLucia, who is in New York with the team.

DeLucia willl be following the team through the "Today" process.

On Wednesday, the team will take part in a parade in Philly as well as a ceremony at Citizens Bank Park.
