Woman Pleads Guilty to Casino Parking Garage Carjacking, Murder

Woman pleads guilty to killing, will testify against her co-defendant: prosecutors

A South Jersey woman pleaded guilty Tuesday to murder in the deadly carjacking of an Atlantic City casino patron.

Jessica Kisby, 26, pleaded guilty to murder, carjacking, auto theft, arson and other charges in return for a 30-year prison sentence with no chance of parole.

The Egg Harbor Township woman also will testify against Craig Arno, her 46-year-old boyfriend and co-defendant, as a condition of the plea agreement reached with Atlantic County prosecutors.

The pair were scheduled to go on trial in April on murder and other charges in the May 2010 death of 47-year-old Martin Caballero of North Bergen. But prosecutors said Tuesday that Arno's trial will now start March 1.

Prosecutors say Caballero was carjacked in the parking garage of the Trump Taj Mahal casino and stabbed to death. His burning vehicle was found early the next day, and his remains were found several days later in a farmer's field about 30 minutes west of Atlantic City.

The random attack occurred just moments after Caballero dropped his family off at the casino to celebrate his daughter's birthday.

Kisby will not be sentenced until after Arno's trial concludes. And if prosecutors determine she did not testify truthfully at his trial, they can revoke the plea deal.
