Swim Coach Arrested for Sex With Student: Cops

A Berks County high school teacher and swimming coach was arrested after he allegedly had sex with a female student.

    A Berks County high school teacher and swimming coach was arrested after he allegedly had sex with a female student.

    Jonathan Bell, 31, a swimming coach at Governor Mifflin High School and teacher with the Exeter School District, is accused of having a sexual relationship with a female student from December 2011 until last June. Investigators say the student was 17-years-old when the relationship began.

    Bell allegedly solicited the girl for nude photos, performed a sexually graphic act for her on video and had sex with her at least once on school property.

    Bell was arrested on Tuesday and charged with unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of minors and criminal solicitation. He was taken into custody, preliminarily arraigned and held on $200,000 bail. He’s scheduled for a preliminary hearing on August 13.
