Fire crews responded to a South Jersey jail Friday after an unknown powdery substance was found in the building's lobby.

A hazmat team determined the powder at the Mercer County Correctional Center on the 1700 block of River Road, Lambertville, was not hazardous shortly after it was discovered around 7:30 p.m., according to officials.

Crews gave the all clear just before 8 p.m.
