A man who police say tried to run over an officer is currently in the hospital.
It happened Monday around 6:15 p.m. on the 6300 block of Edmund Street. Investigators say police were trying to arrest a 27-year-old Narcotics suspect. While fleeing, the suspect allegedly tried to run over a police officer with his vehicle. Investigators say the officer shot at the suspect once and struck him in the left side.
The man was taken to the hospital where he is currently in critical condition. No officers were injured in the incident.
