Police released surveillance video of a West Philadelphia hit-and-run that sent a young girl to the hospital.

Last Tuesday, 9-year-old Aijahanae Johnson was riding her bike near her home on the 4000 block of Merion Avenue. As she tried to cross the street, she was struck by a car which quickly left the scene.
A witness drove after the hit-and-run vehicle but was unable to stop it. The car was last seen in the area of 49th and Thompson, according to investigators.

Johnson suffered non-life threatening injuries to her body and forehead. She continues to recover.

Police say the hit-and-run vehicle was a dark-blue Cadillac with the letters β€œHTL” on a Pennsylvania license plate. The driver appeared to be a woman in her 20’s wearing a purple scarf, according to investigators.
