Surveillance Video Released in Deadly Tow Truck Hit & Run

Philadelphia Police are hoping new surveillance video of a hit and run that took the life of a 33-year-old woman days before Christmas will lead them to her killer.

The video released Friday night shows a dark colored, older model Ford pickup or tow truck driving away from the crash along the 8100 block of State Road in Northeast Philadelphia on Dec. 23, 2014.

The truck suffered damage to its left front end after hitting Theresa Pozzi as she crossed the road, police said. Witnesses said she was thrown as far as 100 feet after being hit. She later died at the hospital.

"It hurts me to the point that not only did they kill my daughter, but they killed me," Pozzi's mother, Anna, told NBC10 as she sobbed. "They took a part of me that I can never get back again."

Police did recover a headlight lens that allowed them to narrow down the make and and age of the truck. But they are still asking for the public's help in finding the driver.

"How could you be so cold and so heartless that you can do that and drive away," the mother asked angrily. "Obviously you didn't have a guilty conscious because you didn't come forward."

Anyone with information is asked to call the Philadelphia Police tipline at 215.686.TIPS.
