Wrestling Legend Jimmy β€˜Superfly' Snuka Returns to Lehigh Valley Court to Have Mental Fitness Tested

The legendary wrestler faces charges in the decades-old death of his girlfriend in the Lehigh Valley

The homicide case involving Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka returns to court six months after a judge ruled the former pro wrestling star mentally incompetent to stand trial in the 1983 death of his girlfriend.

Snuka's mental fitness is expected to be re-evaluated at a hearing in Allentown on Friday afternoon.

The ex-wrestler was charged last year in the death of 23-year-old Nancy Argentino, whose body was found in their Whitehall Township hotel room.

The defense says the 73-year-old Snuka can't stand trial because he suffers from dementia, partly due to the head trauma he suffered over a long career in the ring. The prosecution argues Snuka's brain shows normal signs of aging and suggests he might be faking symptoms.

Lehigh County Judge Kelly Banach ruled in June that Snuka is unable to assist in his defense. [[238427591, C]]
