Another Hot October Day for the Record Books

UPDATE: The high hit 84 by mid-afternoon Friday, breaking the previous record of 80.

Our summerlike temperatures continue again Wednesday with more record highs likely to fall.

On Tuesday record high temperatures were set or tied in Allentown, Reading, Wilmington and Trenton.

Record heat should be more widespread Wednesday. Philadelphia should warm to 85 degrees in the afternoon, the record is 80 set in 1947. Records should fall in other towns as well. [[397576821, C]]

However, the stretch of 80s comes to an end Thursday, with a storm system that will give us showers and a chance of some thunderstorms in the morning and a chance of rain again Friday.

Then gusty winds and much cooler weather Saturday with a high of just 58 degrees. The wind settles down on Sunday, but it will stay cool with morning temps in the 40s and afternoon readings in the very low 60s.

The autumn chill stays with us into next week.
