Strip Club Manager Gets 15 Years for Beating Drunken Patron to Death

A Philadelphia strip club manager convicted of beating an intoxicated patron to death nearly seven years ago is heading to prison.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports 55-year-old John Pettit was sentenced Thursday to up to 15 years behind bars in the killing of 31-year-old James Koons. The Pennsauken, New Jersey, man was convicted earlier this year of third-degree murder, conspiracy and reckless endangerment earlier this year.

Pettit said in court that he was wrong for his actions and he'll remember that forever.

Pettit punched Koons in the head in October 2009 at Oasis Gentleman's Club. Koons fell and was dragged out of the club by Pettit and other bouncers. Surveillance video shows Pettit then kicking Koons outside the club. Koons died two weeks later.
