Bucks County Burglars Target Homes While People Sleep

Police on Tuesday morning reported a string of burglaries in the Levittown area that occurred early Monday and Tuesday.

About 5:30 Monday morning, police said, a juvenile attempted to enter a home on Tapered Oak Lane through an unlocked front window. When the homeowner awoke and screamed, the suspect fled, police said. Detectives were able to identify the young suspect by showing the victim a photo lineup, authorities said, and an arrest warrant has been issued for the juvenile.

On Tuesday morning about 4 o'clock, police said, someone entered a home on Willow Drive through an unlocked window and stole a laptop computer from the kitchen. The homeowner was home and asleep when this happened.

Police said there have been five similar overnight burglaries recently in Levittown, North Park, Willowood and Thornridge. The burglar or burglars in each case entered the homes through open or unlocked windows while residents were sleeping. Police urged people in the area to be vigilant and lock their doors and windows.
