Damaging Hit From Mother Nature

Strong storms moved through parts of the region Tuesday, bringing heavy rain, hail, lightning and gusty winds.

In Delaware, about 11,000 people are without power in New Castle County and crews are cleaning up downed wires and trees.

Powerful winds ripped the roof off of at least one home in Wilmington. According to the National Weather Service, the damage was done by straight line winds, not a tornado.

Heavy rain caused flash floods at the Jersey shore.

Less humid air returns Wednesday, but it will still be hot with a high of 90. We'll have great weather the rest of the week.
