Stolen Police Bicycle Returned, Suspect Still Sought

A Philadelphia Police bike officer has his ride back, but detectives still want to find the man who took it.

The 17-inch Fuji Mountain bike was stolen from outside a 7-Eleven store at 23 W. Girard Avenue in Northern Liberties on Thursday morning. A 26th District officer had stopped in the store and parked the bike outside.

Surveillance cameras showed a man taking the bike and rolling down Leopard Street.

The bike reappeared on Friday, police said, but the man remains on the run. He was last seen wearing a red shirt, possibly a Phillies T-shirt, khaki shorts, black sneakers and a black backpack.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Philadelphia Police tipline at 215.686.TIPS.
