A month-long investigation resulted in the arrest of a man who police say turned cars left on the side of the road into cash.
Egg Harbor Township Police arrested Byron White, 32, of Newtonville, N.J. Monday and charged him with five counts of motor vehicle theft in the township.
According to investigators, White took disabled vehicles parked along area roadways, stole the vehicles and sold the cars to a nearby Galloway Township salvage yard. Those cars were later reported stolen leading police to the investigation.
Officers arrested White while he was allegedly in the act of selling a stolen car at the junkyard.
White was arraigned on theft charges and released after posting $25,000 cash bail. He could still face additional charges in Galloway Township.
