The fight to place legal bets on sports continues for one area state.
The state of New Jersey will try again to win a court fight and become the fifth state with legal sports betting.
The issue is being debated Wednesday before a federal appeals court in Philadelphia.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has led the fight to bring sports gambling to the state's struggling casinos and racetracks.
The four major pro leagues, along with the NCAA, oppose the plan. The NCAA says that gambling threatens the well-being of student athletes.
New Jersey officials argue that a 1992 federal law unfairly allows sports betting in Nevada and three other states -- including nearby Delaware -- while banning it everywhere else.
Experts say billions of dollars are wagered on games each year in Nevada alone.
