Special Needs Student Assaulted: Cops

The student suffered minor injuries.

Bethlehem Police are investigating the assault of a middle school student with special needs, according to the Express Times.

The Times reports that the victim was harassed and attacked by two other students for more than 15 minutes on Monday while on a school bus heading towards Broughal Middle School. The student suffered minor injuries.

Joseph Roy, the Bethlehem Area Superintendent, believes the students made inappropriate comments towards the victim which sparked the fight.

The two juveniles are charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct, according to the Bethlehem Patch. The Patch reports they are also facing disciplinary action by the school district.

The fight was captured on the bus’s security system and the district turned the video over to police. They continue to investigate.
