Husband, Wife Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide at Age-Restricted Development in South Jersey

Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide at an age-restricted community in South Jersey Saturday morning.

Investigators say they received a 911 call about 8:15 a.m. from a 67-year-old man about a shooting inside a home in the 200 block of Idlewood Way in the Heritage age-restricted community in Deptford Township.

When officers arrived, they found the man and his 72-year-old wife inside the home with gunshot wounds.

The man was taken to Inspira Hospital in Woodbury and was pronounced dead at 9 a.m.

His wife was taken to Cooper University Hospital. She was pronounced dead at 9:30 a.m.

The names have not been released.

The Heritage housing development is a community limited to homeowners over age 55.

The deadly incident remains under investigation.
