South Jersey Man Sentenced for Child Porn

State authorities say a southern New Jersey man who shared images and videos of child pornography online has been sentenced to three years in state prison.

Acting Attorney General John Hoffman says 51-year-old Harvey Wescoat, of Hammonton, used peer-to-peer file-sharing software to share the images and videos. He had pleaded guilty last month to offering child pornography.

Hoffman said Wescoat had more than 200 files of suspected child porn on his computer. He was arrested in May 2010.

The charge against Wescoat stemmed from a tip provided by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about a website that was offering child porn. State police investigators got records of the website's activity and identified a computer address in New Jersey that was being used to download child porn.
