W Philly Soldier, Bystander Killed in Shooting

Others injured in Friday night shootout

A soldier, home for the weekend from boot camp, was shot and killed in University City.

His mom says she's grieving for her son, 18 year old Terrence "T.J" Davis, and for the young man who thought it was his duty to pick up a gun and pull the trigger.

Davis' mother Valrita Gordon told NBC 10 that her son had cleaned his room and prepared a to do list as if he knew something was going to happen.

An argument broke out between two groups late Friday night in the 4000 block of Ludlow Street, according to University of Pennsylvania police.  That's when Davis was shot in back.  He died shortly after.

Another 19 year old male was shot in the neck. He is in critical condition at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Davis was an active member of U.S. Army.  Police say both men were innocent victims who were not involved in the argument or the gunfire.

Police are investigating the shooting.  No arrests have been made.
