So Close, Yet So Far from Jackpot

Septa Employee loses out on millions in Powerball winnings

Lionel Archer usually plays the lottery with his co-workers at SEPTA.  But this week, he opted out and 48 of his colleagues hit Wednesday’s Powerball for 172-million bucks!

“I have mixed emotions” Archer told NBC10.  “My luck.  But how often do good things happen in Philadelphia?”

Archer says he usually participates in the office lottery pool, but was busy when his manager came to collect his money this time around.

“I was on the phone.  I kinda blew it off, but I could’ve said hold on … hahah … but I didn’t.”

The identities of the new millionaires are still a mystery.  Archer won’t spill the beans, but does say he’s happy for them all.

"These are my friends and you can't feel anything but happiness for them."
