Social media was buzzing with tweets, posts, status updates and photo sharing during a heavy snowstorm that blanketed the Philadelphia area Tuesday afternoon. Up to a foot of snow fell around the region.

Numerous schools dismissed early Tuesday and the City of Philadelphia issued a snow emergency starting at 4 p.m. Hundreds of flights were cancelled or delayed at the Philadelphia International Airport. Despite the disruptions of every day life, people took to social media to share their snow experiences, both good and bad.
