Storms that blessed school kids with multiple snow days this winter are coming back to haunt Atlantic City students during the new sun of spring.
Students in the Atlantic City School District will be attending Saturday classes to make up for days missed because of the snow, reports the Press of Atlantic City.
The first Saturday half-day class session is this weekend for all high school and elementary school students.
The decision came about because this year’s high school graduation date is locked at Boardwalk Hall, making the idea of tacking days on to the end of the year, after graduation, very undesirable.
As for making up the days by chipping away at spring break, school board officials said they don’t want tomes up families’ plans so close to the vacation.
There were no objections to the Saturday plan at Monday night’s school board meeting.
