Smoking Now Allowed at Revel Casino

Revel has formally dropped its one-of-a-kind non-smoking policy.

Patrons at the Atlantic City casino can now light up on roughly 23 percent of the casino floor, a change that was announced earlier this month and took effect on Friday, just in time for the Memorial Day weekend.

Revel joins the city's 11 other casinos, who have similar smoking policies.

Revel had banned smoking when it opened in April 2012. It thought having a non-smoking facility would boost business, but that did not happen.

Allowing smoking is part of Revel's marketing overhaul following its exit from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last week.
