Sketch Released in Rittenhouse Assault

Philadelphia Police believe the sketch above depicts the man who attacked a Rittenhouse Square woman last Saturday.

The 21-year old was grabbed and groped from behind as she entered her apartment building at 21st and Locust Streets, according to police. The suspect, who is described as a 5-foot 10-inch tall black male in his late 20s to early 30s, attacked the woman at knifepoint.

The woman quickly fought back by spraying him twice in the eyes with mace. The man then punched her several times before fleeing.

"She's a tough girl. We taught her well," her father, Max Jaoen said Monday. The woman had just moved into the apartment that day.

Authorities believe the suspect may have followed the woman home from a pizza shop. The man was wearing a red Phillies hat, black tee-shirt and navy blue jacket.
