Driver Strikes Skateboarder Along Pennsylvania Street, Drives Off: Police

A Pennsylvania man has been jailed in a hit-and-run crash that left a teenage skateboarder in critical condition.

Police in New Holland arrested 20-year-old Joshua Padilla-Gonzalez on Monday after finding the vehicle they believe hit 15-year-old Ryan Sherman about 10 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say surveillance videos and a citizen's tip led them to the suspect's residence, and say he acknowledged driving the vehicle and hitting Sherman and leaving the scene because his license was suspended.

Online court records don't list an attorney for Padilla-Gonzalez, who remained in the Lancaster County Prison unable to post $40,000 bail.

Sherman has a broken leg, severe head trauma and has been in a medically induced coma at Penn State Hershey Medical Center.
