Authorities are investigating as suspicious the deaths of a brother and sister whose bodies were found in a Drexel Hill apartment Thursday.

Upper Darby police told the Delaware County Daily Times that Kathleen Verdecchio, 62, shot and killed her younger brother, Harry McCabe, 61, and her cat before turning the gun on herself.

The bodies were found by McCabe's daugher in her aunt's apartment at about 4:30 p.m. in a duplex the two shared on Mary Street.

"They were found in the first-floor unit," Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood told the Delco Times. "It looks like she shot him then killed herself with a .38 caliber revolver."

The elder sibling, police say, had major medial issues. McCabe, her caretaker, was just diagnosed with cancer, according to the paper.

"...We don't know if there was some kind of pact, or what between them," said Chitwood.
