Police say a 22-year-old shoplifting suspect endangered his one-year-old son by leaving the boy alone in a parked car while he went into a central Pennsylvania Wal-Mart to steal.
The Johnstown Tribune-Democrat reports Austin Wingard, of Johnstown, was arrested on Thanksgiving.
The charges stem from an incident Sept. 7 at the retailer's Ebensburg store. That's when store security allegedly stopped Wingard and another man as they left with shopping carts full of unpaid merchandise.
Wingard was arrested on a bench warrant and jailed until his preliminary hearing Jan. 27 on charges of retail theft, reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of children.
Online court records don't list a defense attorney for Wingard.
