Sexual Assault and Home Invasion Near Univ. of Penn

Students at the University of Penn are being warned this morning.

Last night an armed man forced a woman into a unit at the campus apartments in the 4400 block of spruce street.

The apartments are located just off the University of Pennsylvania campus.

The armed man duct taped her and her roommate then robbed them and sexually assaulted at least one of them.

The attacker got away.

The suspect is being described as a 6” tall black male in his mid 20’s.  Police say he has a slender build and a goatee. The suspect was seen wearing a tan shirt and boots possibly carrying a blue book-bag and blue umbrella.

We don’t yet know if the victims were Penn students.

Penn Community is advised to be careful and aware of their surroundings and not to open your door to any unknown persons.

The incident is being investigated by Philadelphia Police with the assistance of the Penn Police.

Do not attempt to approach the suspect as he may be armed
