A woman told police that a man she met through social media sexually assaulted her at gunpoint then robbed her inside a hotel near Philadelphia International Airport.
The assault took place inside the woman’s room at the Microtel Hotel on Tinicum Boulevard around 3 a.m. Tuesday, said Philadelphia Police Special Victims Unit investigators.
The unknown gunman sexually assaulted the woman then bound her arms using the room’s telephone and stole about $500 in cash as well as her cellphone, said investigators. Police described the suspect as being his late 20s with a goatee who stands around 5-foot, 6-inches tall and weighs around 170 pounds.
Investigators said the victim met the suspect through social media.
