Police Say Serial Predator Targeting Women May Have Struck Again in Philadelphia

Philadelphia police say a predator who attacked women working in prostitution earlier this year, killing one of them, may be responsible for two more recent attacks.

All of the attacks happened in the city's drug- and crime-ridden Kensington neighborhood. Police in July released surveillance video showing the suspect in some of the earlier attacks.

Philly.com reports the most recent incident occurred Oct. 1 when a man on a bike propositioned a woman for sex on Ruth Street near Tusculum. She tells police the man choked her until she lost consciousness after sex.

Police believe the same man also accosted another woman working in prostitution at gunpoint along Kensington Avenue Sept. 19. He took her to an alley off of Clearfield Street along nearby Stouton Street and sexually assaulted her while holding a knife to her face, according to authorities.

Police believe the same man attacked Rickie Morgan, 35, a sex worker in the neighborhood, with a brick then stabbed her after making a sexual deal on July 16. She died.

The same man, often arriving on a bike, is believed to have attacked at least two other women in April and July. The 45-year-old woman attacked in April told police he slashed her throat after approaching her along Frankford Avenue in Kensington.
