Rashon Mitchell is accused of robbing seven banks in the Philadelphia area.
Philadelphia police arrested Rashon Mitchell, 35, Friday night for allegedly robbing seven banks in the Philadelphia area over the last month.
Mitchell was arrested about 7:30 p.m. at 50th Street and Lancaster Avenue in West Philadelphia.
Police received a tip that Mitchell was staying at motel on the 4400 block of City Avenue but he was actually discovered a short time later walking in West Philadelphia by a police officer, according to investigators.
Mitchell is accused of stealing money in a string of robberies that took place from September 25th through October 9th.
Mitchell is considered a suspect in the robbery of TD Bank branch at 4020 City Avenue, Bank of America branch at 4610 City Avenue, PNC Bank branch located at 4060 City Avenue, FirstTrust Bank branch at 1901 Walnut Street and Wachovia Bank branch located at 75 East City Avenue in Lower Merion Township, according to investigators.
Mitchell was charged with robbing the FirstTrust Bank branch at 1515 Market Street and the attempted armed robbery of the Polonia Bank branch at 2133 Spring Garden Street, said police.
