Arson Emergency: Casey to Meet with Coatesville Officials

U.S. Sen. Bob Casey will be in Coatesville on Monday to discuss the city's arson emergency.

Since the beginning of the year, 18 fires in Coatesville and five in nearby areas have been determined to be arson.

The latest fire happened late Friday night after someone set a mobile home ablaze in East Fallowfield Township, about six miles from Coatesville. Fortunately the family inside was able to safely escape, but the home was destroyed.

Casey is expected to meet with Coatesville's elected officials and the city fire and police chiefs. Investigators from state police and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives also plan to attend the meeting.

In addition, the Pennsylvania Democrat is to meet with people whose homes were destroyed in the fires.

Officials are asking anyone with information on the arsons is asked to call the task force tip line at (484) 356-6109.

A $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the Coatesville arsons.
