Seagulls Invade Popular Jersey Shore Pizza Joint

Customers at a popular Jersey Shore pizza place thought eating inside could keep their food safe from seagulls, a bird notorious in the area for swiping beachgoers' food.

They were wrong.

A customer at Manco & Manco Pizza in Ocean City captured video of a bird flying around the restaurant's 9th Street location on August 8. You can see eaters flee onto the boardwalk to evade the bird. At the end of the video, the seagull flies right at the customer with the camera.

Store manager Zach McBride said while seagulls eating food off plates outdoors is part of boardwalk culture, he added it's very rare for the birds to actually enter the store.

"In 15 years working at Manco & Manco, it has not been a common occurrence whatsoever," McBride said. "This is only the second time that I can remember and the other time, the place was pretty much empty."

This time around, the winged menace stopped by when the restaurant was packed on a Saturday night.
