Police are on the hunt for a man who they say chased after two young girls after he tried to lure them into his van.

Police say a 9-year-old girl and a 10-year-old girl were standing in front of the 3000 building of the Arborwood Condominiums on 511 E. Gibbsboro Road in Lindenwold, New Jersey back on September 25 around 8 p.m. As they were standing, a white van pulled up next to them, according to police.

The girls told investigators that a man wearing all black clothing and a ski mask covering his face jumped out of the side cargo area door. The man then allegedly said, “Your mom sent me to take you home.”

Police say the girls immediately ran away, screaming while the man chased them for a short distance. The man then returned to his vehicle and drove from the complex towards Gibbsboro Road.

The van is described as a white, late model GM type with no markings or ladder racks. Police also say the vehicle doesn’t have any side windows past the front door windows and that the brake lights are mounted on the upper portion of the rear van doors. They also say the rear passenger side cargo area door appears to be a hinged double door rather than a sliding door.
