School Teacher Killed in Horrible Crash

Grief counselors will be at a South Jersey Middle School today as students and staff mourn the loss of a teacher.

27-year old Amy Vorhees was killed in a car accident while she was driving to work Wednesday. A makeshift memorial with flowers and letters now marks the spot where the accident occurred.

Vorhees was a 7th grade language arts teacher at Demasi Middle School in Marlton. She also coached softball at Demasi.

A pickup truck slammed into the driver side of Vorhees’ car at the intersection of Troth Road and route 70 in Evesham Township according to police.

The driver of the pickup was treated and released from the hospital.

The accident is still being investigated but no charges have been filed.

Vorhees’ neighbor said she was recently married.
