A Parkland School Bus driver is dead after her bus crashed into an Upper Macungie Township Building Monday morning. No students were aboard the bus when the accident happened.
Kelly Smith, 42, had worked for the Parkland School District for 12 years. Authorities say that Smith may have suffered from a medical condition that caused her to lose control of the vehicle.
"This is a very sad day in Parkland," said Dr. Louise Donohue, the Parkland District's superintendent.
"Our thoughts and prayers go out to Kelly's immediate family."
The crash happened in the 8300 block of Shantz Road between Fogel Road and Grim Road in Fogelsville, Pa.
