Driver Runs Red Light, Strikes School Bus

A driver allegedly admitted to running a red light before slamming his pickup into a bus loaded with children Monday morning.

Luckily no one was hurt in the crash at 66th Avenue and N 18th Street in Philadelphia’s West Oak Lane neighborhood around 7:30.

The black pickup truck slammed into the school bus on the driver’s side  forcing the bus off the road and into a fence.

Police say the driver admitted to running a red light. Surveillance video obtained by NBC10.com cleary shows the pickup running the red light and colliding with the front left side of the bus.

The bus had four elementary school-aged children from Gospel of Grace Christian School along Central Avenue in Cheltenham on board the Durham School Services bus.

Police didn’t save what charges the unidentified pickup driver could face.
