SEPTA Feeds Phillies Playoff Fever

"Sports Express" trains to be added to Broad Street line

SEPTA is making sure that fans stricken with Phillies phever won't have to drive to the stadium complex this weekend instead they can ride the "Sports Express," according to their Web site.

"Sports Express" trains have been added to the Broad Street subway line for October 25 and 26.

Congestion in South Philly could be a problem as the Phils aren't the only show in town. Broad and Pattison will be a busy place with World Series games on Saturday and Sunday night as well as the Flyers playing Saturday afternoon, the Eagles playing Sunday afternoon and The Who concert on Sunday night.

"Sports Express" service is to leave from Fern Rock every 10 minutes from 6:25 to 7:35 on Saturday and Sunday night.

Service will also be expanded as normal for the Eagles game with express trains leaving every 10 minutes from 10:10 a.m. to 12:20 p.m.

SEPTA also is adding service to the Market-Frankford line in the city and lat night service to the Regional Rail system to accommodate possible late finishes for the World Series.

PATCO will also be expanding service from New Jersey for the World Series and are offering $2.40 SEPTA transfer discounts.
