Caught on Cam: Robber Stuns Man With Taser at SEPTA Station, Causing Him to Fall on Tracks

Police are searching for a man and woman who were caught on camera robbing a SEPTA passenger and then stunning him with a Taser, causing him to flip over and fall onto the tracks.

Police say the victim was sleeping on a westbound Market Frankford Line train en route to 69th Street Station Sunday around 12:50 a.m. As he was sleeping, a man and a woman snatched his bag and then ran off the train when it stopped at the Millbourne Station, police said.

Surveillance video shows the man waking up and chasing after the two suspects. The man catches up to them on the train platform and a struggle ensues. During the scuffle, the woman takes out a Taser and stuns the victim. The victim then falls to the ground, hits the edge of the platform and flips over, landing on the train tracks below as the suspects flee the scene.

Police say the victim eventually got up and called for help. He was taken to the hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and later released.

The two suspects were captured on surveillance video boarding a train at the Allegheny Station prior to the robbery and assault, according to police. The first suspect is described as a man between the ages of 20 and 25 standing 5-foot-10 and weighing 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black knit hat, camouflage pants, black Nike sneakers, a gray hooded sweatshirt and a white jacket.

The second suspect is described as a woman between the ages of 20 and 25 standing 5-foot-6 weighing 120 pounds. She was last seen wearing a gray knit hat and scarf, hoop earrings, a black jacket with fur trim and black boots. She was also carrying a black pocketbook.

If you have any information on the identity of the two suspects, please call 911.
