Day two could be worse than the rude awakening commuters got Tuesday morning when they found out SEPTA was on strike.

Public schools were off for Election Day but are back in session Wednesday. That means the 47,000 students who use SEPTA will fall in with other frustrated riders finding another way to get to where they're going.

An R5 train caught fire on the tracks near the Overbrook station Wednesday morning, complicating the already-congested commute into the city from the suburbs.

The city's buses, trains and trolleys are not running. Regional rails, ParaTransit and the Lucy line are running.

SEPTA's largest union walked off the job overnight after Game 5 of the World Series Monday while many commuters were asleep.

TWA Local 234 and SEPTA management can't agree on wages and benefits.

Cab service has been expanded during the strike.
