Fare collection changes are set to begin Monday for five SEPTA stations in Philadelphia.
SEPTA announced the following changes will be in place from Monday through Friday between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Temple, Jefferson, Suburban, 30th Street and University City stations starting July 10:
- All tickets will be inspected and punched by the Fare Collection Personnel at the stairways to the train platforms and returned to the customer
- Punched tickets must be presented to the conductor on the train for collection and placed in a seat ticket slot
- Customers with passes must present them to the Fare Collection Personnel before going to the train platforms
- Conductors will inspect the passes on the train. Riders must have them visible
- All customers traveling from the aforementioned SEPTA stations weekdays between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. must have a pre-paid ticket or pass before going to the train platform. Fares can be purchased at the Station Ticket Office
- Customers traveling with a valid reduced fare and senior citizen identification, including SEPTA key cards, must pre-purchase the appropriate ticket
- Customers must present the valid form of ID and ticket to the Fare Collection Personnel. The ticket will be inspected, punched and returned
- The punched ticket will be collected by the conductor on the train
